LinkedIn Banner Size Guide (2026)

LinkedIn's cover photo — the wide banner behind your profile picture — is 1584 × 396 pixels. Upload anything larger and LinkedIn will scale it down; upload anything smaller and it gets stretched and blurry.

Safe zone

Your profile picture and the bottom-left contact info bar overlap the left third of the banner on desktop, and a much larger portion on mobile. Keep any text or logo you care about inside the right two-thirds of the image, and away from the very bottom edge.

File format & size

LinkedIn accepts PNG or JPG up to 8 MB. PNG is preferable if your banner has sharp text or logos — JPG compression can blur fine details.
